We are seeking to recruit a Mental Health Project Officer with excellent project coordinating experience and skills. The applicant should have a recognised qualification, diploma, degree or equivalent in counselling/psychotherapy.

This is a shared post and therefore the post holder will jointly coordinate the Me, Myself & I - towards Self-Management Project. The post holder will engage with Ethnic Minority (EM) Communities, third sector and public sector organisations working around mental health and wellbeing.

The post holder will coordinate and enhance a safe, professional, effective and accessible face to face counselling service, in line with REACH policies and objective of the Me, Myself and I – Towards Self-management Project. 

Supported by the Line Manager, the post holder will ensure a good working relationship with the team members of the project.

In general, the work will include running group work on mental health issues with Communities, including people with lived experience of mental health.

The post holder with the support of a sessional worker, including Link Worker(s) will organise group sessions on mental health and Positive Minds Groups (PMGs). 

There will be specific areas of the project work that will be specific to this post-holder and will be agreed with the Line Manager in the form an action plan.

Sessional Posts           £15 an hour, (as and when required). 6 hours a week immediately available for 6 months.

 We are seeking to recruit qualified sessional counsellors who have excellent communication skills and a compassionate and sensitive approach when dealing with others. You should be able to provide counselling in at least one of the Ethnic Minority Languages.

You will be providing a counselling service to individuals suffering from mild to moderate mental health conditions and will involve working with diverse client groups, including adults, families, couples and groups.

You will be assigned to partner venues which includes GP surgeries / health centres and REACH offices.  You should be willing to travel across Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Lanarkshire.
